Milestones

Construction milestones for the project:

• Project advertised - March 2005
  
• Contract awarded to CPM Constructors, Freeport Maine - May 2005
  
• Construction begins - May 2005
  
• Off-peak lane closures begin - August 2005
  
• Additional parking spaces on the rail bed between the Kennebec River and Gage Street open - November 2005
  
• School Buses begin using alternate traffic routes – January 26th        
• Parking changes from diagonal to parallel on Commercial Street to allow two lanes of traffic during full closure – February 2006.
• Traffic changes implemented in advance so adjustments can be made - Sunday, February 19th
• Full closure begins Sunday February 26th
