MAINE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

 

Description of State Maintenance Boundary Lines established for

delimiting the urban area of  

Winslow, Kennebec County, Maine

 

Winslow

 

Beginning at a point in the Kennebec River at the convergence of the Waterville-Winslow-Fairfield-Benton town lines and the Kennebec-Somerset County line; thence, extending easterly along said town line, through Benton Avenue to the easterly right-of-way boundary of Benton Avenue; thence, southwesterly via said right-of-way boundary to the junction of Benton Avenue and Roderick Road; thence, southeasterly via the southerly right-of-way boundary of Roderick Road to Frankwood Drive; thence, southeasterly to the northeasterly right-of-way of the intersection of Smiley Avenue and Halifax Street (State Route 100-A);

 

Thence, due south to the Sebasticook River; thence southwesterly via said river to the convergence of said river and Outlet Stream; thence, southerly via said stream to the Garland Road; thence, southwesterly to the junction of China Road (State Route 137C) and State Route 137; thence, westerly along the northerly right-of-way of State Route 137 to Cushman Road (State Route 32); thence, southerly along the easterly right of way of Cushman Rd. to a point 0.29 mile south of State Route 137; thence westerly crossing State Route 32, thence northerly along the westerly right of way of Cushman Rd. to the northerly right of way of State Route 137; thence, westerly along the northerly right of way of State Route 137 to the Augusta Road (U.S. Route 201); thence, southerly along the easterly right of way of along U.S. Route 201 to Chaffee Brook; thence due west to the Waterville-Winslow town line; thence northerly along said town line and river to the convergence of the Waterville-Winslow-Fairfield- Benton town lines and the Kennebec-Somerset county line, the point of beginning.

 

NOTE: Bridges, if any, bisected by the State Maintenance Boundary Line are in the rural area.
