MAINE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

 

Description of State Maintenance Boundary Lines established

for delimiting the urban area of

 

Waterville, Kennebec County, Maine

 

Waterville

 

Beginning at a point in the Kennebec River at the convergence of the Waterville-Winslow-Fairfield-Benton town lines and the Kennebec-Somerset county line; thence, southerly via the Kennebec River to the intersection of a line extending from the junction of West River Road (State Route 104) and Thomas Drive; thence, westerly to the intersection of Thomas Drive and West River Road (State Route 104);

 

Thence, northwesterly to the intersection of Mitchell Road and the Webb Road; thence, northerly to the east extremities of the interchange of Interstate Route 95 and Kennedy Memorial Drive (State Route 11 and 137); thence, northerly Oakland-Waterville town line;

 

Thence, northerly and westerly via said town line to the junction of said town line and Interstate Route 95; thence, easterly crossing Armstrong Road Extension and passing along the north right-of-way boundary of Armstrong Road Extension to a point on the Maine Central Railroad, 660 feet southerly of the southerly right-of-way of Interstate Route 95; thence, easterly parallel to Interstate Route 95 crossing County Road and Messalonskee Stream to the westerly right-of-way of Quarry Road; thence, northerly to the junction of the Waterville-Fairfield town line and Main Street (State Route 104);

 

Thence, southeasterly to Ridge Road at a culvert 0.22 of a mile northeasterly of Main Street (State Route 104); thence, southeasterly through Interstate Route 95 at the east extremities of the Main Street interchange to the east right-of-way boundary of said Interstate Route 95; thence, northeasterly to the Holland Brook inlet at the west extremities of the unnamed pond; thence, northerly along a line extending from said inlet to the east extremities if the interchange of Interstate Route 95 and Western Avenue (State Route 139) in Fairfield to the Waterville-Fairfield town line; thence, easterly along said town line crossing Drummond Avenue and College Avenue (U.S. Route 201) to the junction of the Waterville-Winslow-Fairfield-Benton town lines and the Kennebec-Somerset county line, the point of beginning.

 

Note: Bridges, if any, bisected by the State Maintenance Line are in the rural area.
