MAINE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

 

Description of State Maintenance Boundary Lines established for

delimiting the urban area of

 

Topsham, Sagadahoc County , Maine

 

Topsham

 

Beginning at the junction of Main Street (US Route 201) and Old Main Street (inventory road # 1068); thence, southeasterly via the east right of way boundary of Main Street to the entrance of the SAGE base; thence, southeasterly to a point on the road to Mount Ararat High School, 0.05 mile from Main Street, point of reference utility pole # 6-2; thence, easterly to the northerly extremity of the town way portion of Tedford Road, at the junction of inventory road # 1006; thence, easterly to the northerly junction of Middlesex Road (State Route 24) and Middlesex Loop;

 

Thence, due south to a power transmission line; thence, southwesterly to Foreside Road 0.06 miles east of White Street, point of reference utility pole #12/12; thence, southwesterly on a bearing to a point on Bath Road (U. S. Route 1) 0.39 miles east of the Maine Coast RR Overpass in the town of Brunswick, to the Androscoggin River (Brunswick-Topsham and Cumberland-Sagadahoc town and county line); thence, westerly via said river and town and county line to a point southwest of an alignment of a point on the Old Lewiston Road (inventory road # 301) 0.41 miles northwest of the junction of White House Crossing Road (inventory road # 363) and the junction of Route # 196 and White House Crossing Road (inventory road # 363); thence, northeasterly from said point in said river to a point on Old Lewiston Road 0.41 mile northwest of the junction of White House Crossing Road, reference utility pole #012/124; thence, northeasterly to the junction of Route # 196 and White House Crossing Road; thence southeasterly to the junction of Main Street (US Route # 201) and Old Main Street (inventory road # 1068) the point of beginning.

 

NOTE: Bridges, if any, bisected by the State Maintenance Boundary Line are in the rural area.
