Description of State Maintenance Boundary Lines established for

delimiting the urban area of

 

Skowhegan, Somerset County, Maine

 

Skowhegan

 

Beginning at a point on North Avenue (State Route 150), 0.78 miles north of Dr. Mann Road; thence, southeasterly to a point on Malbons Mill Road 0.50 mile northeasterly of Mann Road, reference utility pole # 2/45 west side of road; thence, southerly to the junction of Malbons Mill Road and Water Street (U.S. Route 2); thence, southeasterly crossing the Kennebec River to East Front Street (U.S. Route 201) at a point 0.93 miles east of Dartmouth St., reference C.M.P. pole # 59/36 S south side of street; thence, southwesterly to a point on Middle Road (State Route 104) 0.83 miles southwest of Bloomfield Road (inventory Road # 525) reference pole # 22; thence, northwesterly along the southerly right of way of State Route 104 to the intersection of Bloomfield Road; thence southwesterly to the intersection of Main Street and Bigelow Hill Road; thence, northwesterly to a point on West Front Street (US Route 2) 0.38 miles southwest of Poulin Drive,

Thence, northwesterly crossing the Kennebec River to a point on Norridgewock Avenue 0.08 mile west of Mary Street, reference utility pole # 35 north side of street; thence, northerly to North Middle Street at a power transmission line 0.27 mile northwesterly of Beech Street; thence, northerly via said power transmission line to the Skowhegan-Madison Town Line; thence, easterly via said town line to the easterly right-of –way of Madison Avenue (U.S. Route 201); thence, southeasterly via said right-of –way to a point 0.14 mile from the junction of East Madison Road, reference utility pole # 8s east side of street; thence, easterly to East Madison Road 0.14 mile north of the intersection with Madison Avenue (U.S. Route 201), reference utility pole # 4 east side of road; thence, easterly to the junction of Industrial Park Road and North Avenue (State Route 150); thence, northeasterly via the westerly right-of –way boundary of North Avenue (State Route 150) to a point 0.78 mile from Dr. Mann Road, the point of beginning.

 

Also a section of Water Street (US Route 2) beginning at a point 0.49 miles west of East River Road to a point on US Route # 2, 0.27 miles east of East River Road, reference pole # 101/8, for a total distance of 0.76 miles.

 

Note: Bridges, if any, bisected by the State Maintenance Boundary Line are in the rural area.
