MAINE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

 

Description of State Maintenance Boundary Lines established for

delimiting the urban area of

 

Gardiner, Kennebec County, Maine

 

Gardiner

 

Beginning at the conjunction of the Farmingdale-Gardiner-West Gardiner town lines; thence, easterly via the Farmingdale-Gardiner town line to the conjunction of the Farmingdale-Gardiner-Randolph town lines in the Kennebec River; thence, southerly via the Gardiner-Randolph town line to the conjunction of the Gardiner-Randolph-Pittston town lines at the confluence of the Kennebec River and Togus Stream; thence, southwesterly to River Avenue (State Route 24) 0.10 mile south of Cottage Street, point of reference utility pole #5/29/26; thence, westerly to the junction of Cottage Street and Dresden Avenue;

 

Thence, southwesterly to the easterly extremity of Tilbury Park; Thence southwesterly to a point on Brunswick Avenue (U.S. Route 201) 0.05 mile south of Marston Road; thence, southerly via the west right-of-way boundary of Brunswick Avenue to the junction of Old Brunswick Avenue and Brunswick Avenue; thence, northwesterly to Cobbosseecontee Stream at the point where the course of the Gardiner-West Gardiner town line departs from the course of said stream; thence, northerly via the Gardiner-West Gardiner town line to the conjunction of the Farmingdale-Gardiner-West Gardiner town lines, the point of beginning.

 

Also, a portion of River Road (State Route 24) in the village of South Gardiner beginning 0.24 mile south of Bartlett Street, point of reference utility pole #9/32; thence, northerly to a point 0.03 mile north of Capen Road; thence, back southerly to utility pole #9/32, the point of beginning.

 

Note: Bridges, if any, bisected by the State Maintenance boundary are in the rural area.
