MaineDOT To Replace Culverts and detour Traffic In Lincolnville, Union and Newcastle

MaineDOT would like to advise motorists of three upcoming road closures in Lincolnville, Union and Newcastle.

In Lincolnville, crews will replace a culvert on Route 235 that is located approximately 500 feet north of the Moody Mountain Road. Construction is set to begin on Monday, September 21, and is expected to take four days. Crews expect to reopen the road on Thursday, September 24. Traffic will be detoured onto the Moody Mountain Road, High Street and Route 173 during the detour.

In Union, crews must close a section of Route 131 just south of the Appleton town line in order to replace a large culvert. This section of road will be closed from Monday, September 21 until Friday, September 25. Traffic will be detoured onto the Butler Road and Route 105 during the construction.

In Newcastle, crews need to replace a culvert on the Sheepscot Road near the intersection of the Lewis Hill Road. Construction is expected to start on Monday, September 28 and should be completed by Friday, October 2.

MaineDOT thanks motorists for their patience and understanding as crews undertake these necessary repairs.
