Ramp work to continue next week on I-295

Construction work will continue on I-295 exit ramps in Brunswick, Topsham and Gardiner next week as crews continue working on the I-295 Northbound Rehabilitation project. These ramps will remain open during the day, but the following ramps will be closed during the night from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. on the following dates:

  • September 13: Exit 31 on-ramp (Topsham)
  • September 14: Exit 28 off-ramp southbound (Brunswick)
  • September 15: Exit 28 off-ramp southbound (Brunswick)
  • September 16: Exit 28 on-ramp (Brunswick)
  • September 17: Exit 28 on-ramp & 49 off-ramp (Brunswick and Gardiner)
  • September 18: Exit 49 off-ramp (Gardiner)

There will also be sporadic daytime lane closures on I-295 northbound and southbound between Topsham and Gardiner in order for construction crews to work on median crossovers and as well as to finish drainage work.

When driving through these work zones, please curtail cell phone use and be aware of changing traffic patterns, slow moving construction vehicles and construction personnel. Please observe posted construction zone speed limits. Decreasing speed excessively to observe construction activity poses a safety risk and creates congestion.
