Construction crews to resume work on Route 2 in Canaan

Motorists using Route 2 in Canaan are advised that construction crews are set to resume road work on a 2.6-mile stretch of this road starting Wednesday, April 8.

Vaughn Thibodeau & Sons of Bangor was awarded the $3.6 million contract to rebuild this section of Route 2. Crews are currently installing the approach signage and are preparing for pre-blasting soundings that are scheduled for Wednesday of this week, weather permitting. Crews will then begin excavating and installing the remaining cross pipes next week. Traffic will be restricted to a single, alternating lane during the installation operations.

Please drive safely and use caution when travelling through any construction zone.
