ROUTE 43 BRIDGE IN STARKS REDUCED TO ONE LANE DURING REPAIRS
Starting on Monday, December 1, 2008, traffic over the Village Bridge on Route 43 in Starks will be restricted to alternating one-way traffic so that crews from MaineDOT can repair the bridge.
MaineDOT crews will be repairing the curbs, railing and fascia of the bridge, which have deteriorated and need to be replaced. The repairs are expected to be completed within ten to 12 weeks. Motorists are reminded to observe posted signage and drive with extra caution while traveling through the work area. Drivers will be directed by signs to yield to oncoming traffic on the bridge.
Village Bridge on Route 43 in Starks spans Lemon Stream. The steel beam bridge was built in 1941 and is 77 feet long.
