Section Of Route 23 In Oakland To Close For rail crossing repairs
A section of Route 23 in Oakland will be closed starting Wednesday, November 5 at 7:00 a.m. and continuing to the end of the day on Thursday, November 6 so crews can repair a railway crossing.
The railroad crossing is situated on Route 23 between the Rice Rips Road and Municipal Drive in Oakland. Due to the nature of construction, both lanes must be closed to traffic while crews are removing and installing the rail. Detour signs in the area will direct motorists to a detour that includes the Gagnon Road, Oak Street and Pleasant Street in Oakland. Locations between the railroad crossing and detour points on Route 23 will be open to local traffic only.
Work on the crossing will be conducted by Pan Am Railways and Fine Line Paving and is scheduled to be completed by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
