MaineDOT crews to install traffic counter on route 7 in Newport

On Tuesday, August 12, MaineDOT will install a traffic counter on Route 7 in Newport.
The crews are replacing an existing counter that is no longer functioning properly. Crews will first close the southbound lane of Routes 7 to install sensors in the pavement, and once complete, will close the northbound lane and install sensors.The traffic counter is located 500’ south of the Corrinna town line in Newport, .07 tenths of a mile north of the County Woods Road.
