MaineDOT crews to close portion of Hughes Road in Mapleton

MaineDOT crews will be detouring traffic around a short portion of the Hughes Road in Mapleton as crews install a concrete box culvert on Libby Brook starting Tuesday, August 12.

Libby Brook runs under the Hughes Road just 500 feet north of the intersection of Route 163 and the Hughes Road. The structure currently over Libby Brook can not be repaired and needs to be replaced. Crews plan to have the new box culvert installed and road improvements completed by August 29.

During the construction period, traffic will be detoured on to sections of Station Street and Morrison Street.
