Crews To Inspect Casco Bay Bridge Systems
MaineDOT personnel and a team of engineers from Modjeski & Masters of Harrisburg, Penn. will be inspecting the mechanical and electrical systems of the Casco Bay Bridge starting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 14 and continuing through Friday, April 17.
During the inspection, there will be a need for several openings of the bridge. These openings will be short in duration, and the inspection team will perform several tasks with each opening in order to limit the overall number of openings. The openings will be similar to MaineDOT’s scheduled service openings which occur regularly with little impact to shipping or vehicular traffic.
Crews will be inspecting the traffic gates and barriers, lighting system, heating systems, communications devices, machinery operations, motor drives, and control system equipment as well as other systems and parts during their four-day inspection.
