Freeport Divergent Diamond Interchange Information

Please note: Tonight’s meeting will be held as scheduled

The I-95 Desert Road interchange in Freeport has considerable traffic that causes congestion issues at certain times of the day. The issue is predominantly at the southbound off-ramp, as traffic tends to backup periodically onto the Interstate.

MaineDOT has a potential solution to the traffic issue. The solution is called a Divergent Diamond Interchange.

Other states have constructed these interchanges, so please keep an open mind when viewing. To see how a Divergent Diamond operates, please see the following videos:

Representatives of the MaineDOT will be at the Freeport Community Center at 6:30 on October 30, 2012 to give an overview of the proposal. Please join us to discuss this unique solution.
