Welcome to the Connecting Maine Web site
Connecting Maine is the statewide long-range transportation plan for 2008-2030, developed over the past several years through an extensive public process. It presents the challenges and opportunities Maine faces over the next 20 years, and identifies the goals, the strategic investments needed to meet those goals, the cost of investments and the anticipated revenues.
It identifies a $2.6 to $3.8 billion gap over the next 10 years and describes some alternative funding approaches that could be considered to help close the gap. The plan also provides region-specific strategic investment plans consisting of the policy, planning, and capital investment needs for each of the 38 corridors of Regional Economic Significance for Transportation, as identified by Maine's Regional Councils through their public outreach efforts.
