Municipal Sand & Salt Building Program

Description

New Priority 1 & 2

Priority 3
(State, municipal, County)

A) Preliminary notice form to MaineDOT (one pager) the later of:
4/1/2001,or 1 yr from notice of availability of State funds
the later of:
1/2003, or 1 yr from notice of availability of State funds
B) Final review of plans by MaineDOT
(municipal & county only)
1 year from dates in Step A 1 year from dates in Step A
C) Construction complete and facility in operation 2 years from dates in Step A 2 years from dates in Step A
  • NO violations or pollution of groundwater may be allowed for more than 3 years from the date of an offer of a state grant.
  • The Department cannot issue time schedule variances.
  • An owner or operator of a salt or sand/salt storage area is not in violation of these deadlines if that owner/operator is eligible for a state grant and the state grant is not available.
