MaineDOT Landscape Architecture
MaineDOT landscape architects plan, design and oversee construction of transportation landscape projects in public spaces across the state.
In addition to landscape projects at MaineDOT facilities, the Department’s landscape architects work with state agencies, municipalities, community groups and landowners on a wide range of projects including intersection and roadside planting design, road construction project vegetation, community streetscapes, public places along scenic byways, tourist info centers, rest areas and scenic overlooks, state highway water and recreation access points and creation or improvement of bicycle and pedestrian transportation facilities.
