Bangor I-95 Corridor Study

There will be a Public Meeting on the Bangor I-95 Corridor Study at 7:00 PM, November 12th, 2009 at The Bangor Banquet and Conference Center.

The Maine Department of Transportation, in cooperation with federal and local area transportation officials, is conducting a study of the I-95 corridor through Bangor. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the long-term needs of the Bangor I-95 corridor and identify a set of recommendations that will provide safe and efficient transportation service through the year 2030.

The study of the I-95 corridor through Bangor is scheduled to be completed in early 2010.

The study will examine:

  • Existing mainline segments and interchanges
  • Safety and mobility performance
  • Environmental considerations
  • Future conditions

And evaluate improvement alternatives that may include:

  • Transportation Systems Management
  • Transportation Demand Management
  • Interchange improvements
  • New transportation capacity
