Air National Guard Environmental Impact Statement

The study area for this EIS includes portions of Piscataquis, Somerset, Franklin, and Oxford counties in Maine and a portion of Coos County, New Hampshire.
During the environmental process, under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the ANG is required to make certain documents available for public review. As they are made available, they will appear on the Documents web page.

The EIS is in draft form as of July 2012. The ANG is consulting with the Penobscot Indian Nation and Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, as prescribed in 36 CFR 800. When consultations have been completed, the EIS will be updated and the Notice of Availability (NOA) of the Final EIS will be published in the Federal Register and local newspapers in advance of a 30-day public review, after which a Record of Decision (ROD) will be signed.
