Town of Wales Public Hearing

 

 

The Wales Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Wales Central School gymnasium from 7 PM to 9 PM to present three town ordinance drafts for review and comment.  The following updated ordinances will be presented: 

 

1.  2007 Draft Amended Subdivision Ordinance (administrative process clarification changes)

2.  2007 Draft Shoreland Zoning Ordinance (state mandated shoreland zoning regulation changes)

3.  2007 Draft Amended Definitions Ordinance (changes resulting from modifications to the other draft ordinances)

The board plans to present the final drafts of these Ordinances for adoption at the 2007 Wales Town Meeting in June.  If required, another public hearing will be scheduled to incorporate changes proposed at this hearing to finalize the draft documents prior to the Town Meeting.

 

The board will also present its initial working draft for a proposed mining ordinance for comment.  The mining ordinance is not being considered for adoption at the 2007 Town Meeting.  All residents are encouraged to attend.  Copies of the revised ordinances are available for review on line at www.maine.gov, local government, type in Wales in the select by town box (http://www.maine.gov/local/androscoggin/wales) under the ordinances section, copies are also available at the town office on Center Road, Wales.  There will be a limited number of copies available at the school the night of the hearing.
