The Democratic Working Group on Small Business Growth, established by former House Speaker John Richardson, aimed to raise the profile of small business
in the Legislature and proposed 16 bills to give businesses the
tools they need, foster entrepreneurship in the state, and streamline
the regulatory process for businesses. Of the 16 bills, 13 passed
or found non-legislative solutions and three died.
