Senator Richard Nass
Senator Richard Nass is currently serving his fourth term in the Maine Senate where he represents parts of York County, and served as the lead Senate Republican on the Joint Standing Committee on Taxation. Prior to his election to the Senate, he served four terms in the Maine House of Representatives.
A businessman, Senator Nass has 18 years of experience as a consultant, business broker and trade association executive. He holds degrees in mathematics and business administration from Union College and the University of New Hampshire.
The Senator, a veteran of the US Army, served his country from 1966 to 1972. Other service includes 15 years on the Acton School Board, 12 years on the Acton Planning Board, and 30 years as a volunteer firefighter. He is a former director of the Maine School of Management Association, a member of the Maine Fire Protection Services Commission and the York County Community College Foundation Board.
Senator Nass and his wife, Representative Joan Nass of House District 144, have two sons and one grandson, and reside in Acton.
