Senator Brian Langley was reelected by the people of District 28 to represent them in the Maine Senate on November 6, 2012. District 28 includes the Hancock County communities of Bar Harbor, Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Central Hancock, Cranberry Isles, Deer Isle, Ellsworth, Frenchboro, Gouldsboro, Hancock, Lamoine, Mount Desert, Sedgwick, Sorrento, Southwest Harbor, Stonington, Sullivan, Surry, Swans Island, Tremont, Trenton, and Winter Harbor. The district also includes Knox County's Isle au Haut.

Langley served one term in the Maine House of Representatives representing District 38, which includes Ellsworth, Otis, and Trenton. While in the House, Langley served on the Taxation Committee.

 

Langley is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine and Syracuse University. He is an entrepreneur, chef, and educator, having spent the more than 27 years teaching culinary arts at Hancock County Technical Center. Brian also owns the Union River Lobster Pot restaurant in Ellsworth. He is a volunteer at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital; involved with Boy Scout Troop 86; a board member of the First Congregational Church of Ellsworth and treasurer of the American Culinary Federation's Downeast chapter.

 

Langley and his wife, Jane Bromley, have two children, David and Sarah.
