Linda Valentino served four terms in the Maine House prior to being elected to the Maine Senate in 2012. While a member of the House, Valentino sponsored a wide range of legislation including bills honoring Women Veterans, opposing bullying; providing seed capital for businesses; and reforming campaign practices. She served on the Appropriations, Taxation, and Veterans and Legal Affairs Committees, in addition to the Joint Select Committee of Business Regulatory Fairness and Reform.

Valentino is a 1974 graduate of Thornton Academy. She has a B.A. in political science from the University of Southern Maine and is a certified paralegal. She is a former Commissioner of the Maine Liquor and Lottery Commission and was elected for three terms to the Saco City Council, where she served as Deputy Mayor and Chair of the Finance Committee.

Valentino lives in Saco with her husband, Curtis Scamman. They have three children and two grandchildren.
