About
Rep. Rankin
Rep. Helen Rankin is serving her first term in the Maine
Legislature and has been appointed to the Education and Cultural
Affairs Committee.
After moving around the country for many years, Helen Rankin and
her family moved to Portland. Throughout her childhood, and as
a student at many schools, Rep. Rankin came to understand the importance
of great teachers and what a difference a good education can make
in a person’s life. Those experiences convinced her to seek
out higher education later in life and earn her college degree.
In her professional career as a school nutrition director, Rep.
Rankin has worked to improve school food programs at the state
and federal level.
Rep. Rankin has two children.
