About Rep. Devin
Representative Mick Devin is serving is his first term in the Maine House of Representatives. He is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Marine Resources.
A marine biologist, Rep. Devin is employed at the University of Maine’s Darling Marine Center as the Hatchery Manager where his work focuses on aquaculture. Devin has received fellowships from the Maine Department of Maine Resources Marine Studies Program,the prestigious Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship (NOAA Sea Grant) and the Japanese Science and Technology Program Exchange Researcher Program.
Rep. Devin recently retired as a commander from US Naval Reserves. Until his election to the Maine House of Representatives, he sat on the Sea Urchin Zone Council for the Maine Department of Marine Resources and was chairman of the Aquaculture and Marine Technical Board at the Maine Technology Institute.
Rep. Devin is active in both youth and young adult baseball in the Midcoast region. He also is a Blue & Gold Officer in the Admissions Department of the United States Naval Academy and he advises and mentors local students on applying to the Naval Academy as well as other service academies including Maine Maritime.
Rep. Devin lives with his family in Newcastle. His wife Laura is a teacher at Woolwich Central School and an artist. They have two sons, Coorain, a student at Tufts University and Chauncey, a student at Hampshire College.
