Rep. Susan M. Austin

District 109

Representative Sue Austin is serving her fourth term in the Maine House of Representatives representing District 109, which includes part of Gray, part of North Yarmouth, and part of Pownal.

Rep. Austin has an Associate Degree from Bliss College. She is very involved in community organizations, including Gray Business Association, Opportunity Farm for Girls and Boys, St. Gregory’s Parish Council, Gray Senior Housing Authority, Libby Brook Conservation Project, Gray Historical Society, Gray-New Gloucester Optimist International Foundation Representative, Crystal Lake Association, Friends of Gray Public Library and the Greater Portland Council of Government. She also served five terms on the Gray-New Gloucester School Board and one term on the Gray Town Council.

Rep. Austin is the sole proprietor of Ewes Welcome Stenciling and Decorating. She enjoys writing articles for local newspapers in her House District. Prior to becoming a legislator, Rep. Austin was employed by a major Maine retailer as an administrative assistant and worked on safety/ergonomic issues.

Rep. Austin and her husband, Ernest, have four children and three granddaughters.
