Representative David E. Richardson
David Richardson is the State Representative for House District 23, which includes Carmel, Etna, Hermon and Stetson in Penobscot County. He lives in Carmel with his spouse, Diana. They have two children.
Rep. Richardson returns for service in the 125th Legislature being appointed to chair the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee. Previously he served on the Island Fisheries and Wildlife Committee during the 122nd and 123rd Legislature, He also served on the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee for the 124th Legislature.
Rep. Richardson is a Retired Educator of 28 years, where he taught Middle School Language Arts.
Rep. Richardson received a Bachelors Degree in English and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Maine.
His community involvement consists of the Carmel Snowmobile Club, Penobscot County Conservation Club, Benevolent Lodge 87, the Carmel Alumni Association, University of Maine Alumni Association, Board of Regents Maine Masonic College, Board member of the Bangor Masonic Learning Center and Board Member of Sebasticook Valley Hospital.
Rep. Richardson lists his personal interests as reading, fishing, kayaking, cycling, cross-country skiing, fly tying and writing children's books and short stories. He also tutors dyslexic children. He enjoys old books, cribbage boards, fresh coffee and rich conversations.
