Representative Joan M. Nass
Joan Nass, serving her fourth term in the Maine House of Representatives, is the State Representative for House District 144, which includes Acton, part of Lebanon and part of Sanford. She lives in Acton with her spouse, Richard.
Rep. Nass was appointed to chair the Judiciary Committee and serve on the Ethics Committee during the 125th Legislature. Rep. Nass has served in the 122nd, 123rd and 124th Legislature. She has served on the Judiciary Committee, (3 terms) and the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee (3 Terms).
Rep. Nass is an Educator and received her B.S. from the University of Arizona. Her community interests are with the Acton Lions Club, York County Community Action, (Board Member), Southern Maine Garden Club and Raise a Row for the Hungry Program. Rep. Nass represents school district SAD 60.
Rep. Nass enjoys gardening, raising food for the elderly and knitting. Rep. Nass and her husband, the Honorable Richard Nass, have two children and three grandchildren.
Rep. Nass received her B.S. from the University of Arizona in 1965. She is a retired educator in the Sanford school system. She belongs to several community organizations including the Lions Club and the Southern Maine Gardening Club. She is also a member of the York County Community Action Committee and the Notre Dame Church in Springvale.
