Representative Richard S. Malaby
Richard Malaby is the State Representative for House District 34, which includes the towns of Gouldsboro, Hancock, Lamoine, Sorrento, Sullivan, Waltham and Winter Harbor, plus the unorganized territory of Fletchers Landing Township. He lives in his Hancock with his wife, Elizabeth. They have 3 children.
Rep. Malaby has been appointed to serve on the Health and Human Services Committee for the upcoming 125th Legislature.
Rep. Malaby has worked in small business for 31 years, and is the current owner of Crocker House Country Inn. He is also a Chef and Innkeeper.
Rep. Malaby received a Bachelors Degree in Political Science Degree from the University of Michigan. He earned a Master's Degree from Michigan State University. He also engaged in studies at the Institute of Public Policy at the University of Maine.
Rep. Malaby's community interests include being a Board Member with the Mid Coast Memorial Hospital, serving on Hancock's Budget Committee, Maine Tourism Association of Maine and the Maine Innkeepers Association of Maine. He is also a member of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce. He was voted Citizen of the Year in Hancock in 2009.
Rep. Malaby lists his personal interests as portrait and macro photography and he enjoys traveling.
