Representative Douglas K. Damon
Doug Damon is the State Representative for House District 16, which includes part of Bangor, in Penobscot County. He and his wife of 40 years, Cherie, live in Bangor and have two children.
Rep. Damon attended the University of Maine, where he studied Elementary Education, and Auburn University, where he received his Master's Degree in Political Science.
Rep. Damon is a 35 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a Weapons Systems Officer and Navigator, achieving the rank of colonel. Among Rep. Damon's numerous distinctions is a Legions of Merit award. He is retired from the Defense Civil Service and currently works as a real estate agent.
Rep. Damon has been appointed to the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee for the 125th Legislature.
Rep. Damon's community service pursuits include membership on the Board of Directors of the Military Officers Association of America (Pine Tree Chapter) and in the Air Force Association. He has also served as President of the Bangor Kiwanis. Rep. Damon has received the Gary Leighton Kiwanis Leadership Award and the Charles Sullivan Community Leadership Award.
Rep. Damon's district includes the schools of Down East Elementary, Job Corps, the University of Maine at Augusta/Bangor campus, and the University of Maine at Orono.
His personal interests include fishing, golf, and racquetball.
