Plan to study health care costs passes House, moves to Senate

AUGUSTA - The Maine House today gave unanimous final approval to a joint order that seeks to create a legislative committee to examine ways to control the cost of health care in the state. The measure, HP 597, now goes to the Senate.

Health insurance reform clears initial hurdle in Maine House

AUGUSTA - Landmark legislation to revamp Maine's health insurance market cleared a critical hurdle today in the House of Representatives by a vote of 76-72. AUGUSTA - State Rep. Les Fossel has taken a strong position against a bill to curtail school choice for residents of the Town of Alna and the Town of Westport Island.
