The Legislature rarely closes
its offices or cancels or delays its legislative sessions. Occasionally,
due to inclement weather or an emergency situation, legislative operations
are affected. In those cases, the Legislature makes every reasonable
effort to notify members of the public of changes in schedules or operations.
Usually public service announcements are made on area television and
radio stations. Notices are also posted on the Legislature's website. Members of the public may click
on Legislative Alerts on the Legislature's
website for notices of closure of Legislative offices, delayed legislative
or committee sessions or
other emergency notifications. Members of the public may also
call the Legislative Information Office at 287-1692 during business hours
to receive the most current information on legislative schedules.
