nearly 200,000 teens in the U.S. are injured on the job every year?

DO YOU KNOW...

there are laws to protect teen workers?

DO YOU KNOW...

150-200 Maine teens are hurt on the job badly enough to lose time from work each year?

If you're a teen worker, a parent or a teacher responsible for a teen worker, or an employer of teen workers, YOU NEED TO KNOW THE RULES. That's why we created the safeteen program.

Picture of the Safeteen Kit

The safeteen kit was designed to help Maine employers and teen workers understand the responsibilities and requirements of workplace safety. Materials were developed with the help of Maine employers and teens. The Guide for Maine Employers of Teens explains the rules and regulations you need to know if you have teens working for you. Safetools* is filled with training exercises and activities to illustrate safe working procedures. The Guide for Working Teens, the poster* and the wallet cards* (click here to order printed copies) are for your teen workers - display them prominently, and encourage your teen workers to speak up if they have any questions or concerns about safety.
