Veterans' Employment Committee

The Maine Jobs Council (MJC) is standing up a Veterans’ Employment Committee. The Committee will work to improve training and employment opportunities for Maine Veterans, Disabled Veterans and eligible spouses. The Committee will focus on building awareness among employers of the advantages of hiring Veterans and will develop policy recommendations to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Veterans’ employment and training programs in Maine.

The Committee will be chaired by Edwin Clift, recently retired CEO and President of Merrill Merchant Bank in Bangor. Ed is looking to assemble a team of volunteers for his Committee. He is looking for members who are committed to giving back to those who gave so greatly to protect our freedoms, rights and privileges. The Committee will meet approximately 4-5 times per year.

If you have an interest in being a member of Maine’s new Veterans’ Employment Committee, please contact Ed Clift at 852-3225 or email eclift@earthlink.net. For more information about Veterans' employment and traning services offered by Maine CareerCenters, visit www.mainecareercenter.com/veterans.
