1) A mass layoff event occurs when 20 or more workers are laid off for more than 30 days.
2) Establishments with Layoffs by reason will not add to total due to some companies having several events with different reasons.
3) Other reasons include bankruptcy, business ownership change, contract cancellation, contract completed, domestic relocation, material shortage, natural disaster, overseas relocation, plant or machine repair, product line discontinued, and weather related.
