The following are points of
interest that were discussed at the
· Sue Bell distributed a list of positions as of August 8, 2005, which will be considered the baseline.
· The Commissioner asked for a monthly summary.
o .The summary will be adjusted for FTEs and part-time positions.
o Kim will graph the summary.
· Arthur Davis is working on CI-P Certifications that are behind schedule.
o There will be a standard level of training.
o MEP may have the CI-Ps attend private sector meetings to observe.
o The number of CI-Ps trained are:
§ DOL – 17
§ DHHS – 11
§ DOT – 2
§ DEP – 1
· John Rioux and Bill Peabody did a Lean presentation at the NAGLO Conference.
· The 14 VSM Projects discussed at the July 27 meeting were discussed and reduced to four:
o Common
Intake (Individual, Employer, Registry, CSU Telephone & Labor
intakes). Sponsor Laura Fortman, Manager
o Delivery of services to dislocated workers. Sponsor Laura Fortman, Manager Jane Gilbert
o Program Consolidation – LMIS & BLS. Sponsor John Dorrer, Manager Dana Evans.
o Integration on Employer Audits/Visits/Surveys (BUC, LMIS BLS) Sponsor Bill Peabody, Manager Lloyd Black.
· There is no ending to the BTC Initiative as continuous improvement is part of it.
· VSM Projects do have an ending.
· Implementation is slow to occur – we will be refocusing on it..
· Two CI-Ps will be assigned to each Project as part of the training requires them to practice together.
· If there is any problem with CI-Ps not agreeing on an issue, Managers are asked to bring the matter to the weekly Project Team meetings.
· The CI-Ps will meet with the Sponsors and Managers and Charter the Teams
· Within the next 10 days, the Commissioner will send a letter to all employees requesting volunteers for the Project Teams.
· The Outreach and Education VSM will be rechartered and reactivated. Adam is the Sponsor and a Manager will be selected.
