Goal & Mission

Goal of the Maine Pre-Apprenticeship Program

To prepare 16-21 year old youth for the world of work by fulfilling academic requirements and simultaneously exploring apprenticeable occupations. Young people are provided with a link between education in the classroom and skills training in the workplace and prepared for entry into a Registered Apprenticeship Program upon successful completion.

Pre-Apprenticeship Goals and Mission

Mission

  • Provide youth a link between education in the classroom and skill training in the workplace.
  • Create work experience opportunities in apprenticeable occupations for juniors and seniors through High School Technology Centers, Regions, and other Secondary Schools.
  • Collaborate with existing services in the schools and job training system to assist, educate, and place students and dropouts in Registered Pre-Apprenticeship Programs.
