Dozens of employers hiring for seasonal and year-round positions

ELLSWORTH?The 2014 Hancock County Spring Job Fair will be held on Thursday, March 20, from 9 a.m. to noon at Mill Mall, 248 State Street.

?Maine?s employers are hiring; our state gained 6,500 jobs in 2013,? said Governor Paul R. LePage. ?2014 is looking promising with several job fairs scheduled around the state, including this one in Hancock County. Come out, meet employers and learn what the area has to offer if you are looking for a new job.?

The Bangor CareerCenter, Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce, Jackson Laboratory, Tri-County Workforce Investment Board, Eastern Maine Development Corporation, Willey?s Sport Center, Wallace Tent and Party Rental and the Maine Department of Labor are sponsoring the job fair. Sylvia?s Caf? will be offering specials to job fair participants that morning.

Participating employers include: AC Parsons Landscaping and Garden Center, Aroostook/Atlantic Mental Health Center, Athenahealth, Bangor Area Staffing Solutions, Bangor Police Department, Birch Bay Village, Bonney Staffing, Care and Comfort, Community Health and Counseling Services, Cool As A Moose, Green Mountain Concert Services, Hancock County Jail, the Hinckley Company, Home Care for Maine, the Home Depot, Jackson Laboratory, KidsPeace, Learning Works-Ameri-Corps, Living Innovations, Maine Army National Guard, Maine Department of Health and Human Services, Maine Fair Trade Lobster, MaineStream Finance, Manpower, MAS Home Care of Maine, MERT Enterprises, Newland Nursery and Florist, Penobscot Community Health Care, RSU 24 Adult Education, Seawall Motel, Securitas Security Services USA, Springborn Staffing, St. Joseph Healthcare, U.S. Cellular, Witham Family Hotels and Woodlands Senior Living of Brewer.

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O?Net software for skills assessment.
