This time of year is when the number of people filing claims is at its highest. This means that there can sometimes be long wait times on the phones if you are calling to speak with a customer service representative. We appreciate your patience.
Unemployment claimants should visit http://www.file4UI.com to file initial or weekly claims or to look up claims. To use this site, you must enter your social security number and your PIN number.
Use the automated phone system after 5 p.m. during the week to file weekly claims to avoid long waits.
Please plan on staying on hold if you do call the unemployment claims line to speak to a claims representative; if you hang up you lose your place in the phone line.

For EUC Unemployment Claimants Only
Because Congress has not acted to extend Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) benefits, the federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) Program, has expired as of Dec. 28, 2013. If you are currently enrolled under any tier of EUC, note that the final payable week of all EUC (currently Tier 1 and Tier 2 in Maine) will be the week ending Dec. 28, 2013, for all EUC participants.
We encourage you to contact the CareerCenter closest to you to register with the Maine Job Bank and to take advantage of other services available at the CareerCenter. For locations and contact information, visit our website at: http://maine.gov/labor/careerctr/index.shtml .
