Focuses on veterans, active duty military personnel and their families

PORTLAND?The 2013 Hiring Our Heroes job fair in Portland will take place Nov. 14, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fireside Inn & Suites, 81 Riverside Dr. in Portland.

A workshop for veterans and other military job seekers focusing on resume writing, tips for successfully navigating hiring fairs, military-skill translation and interviewing will be held at 9 a.m. To register for the Hiring Our Heroes Employment Workshop, visit http://hohworks.eventbrite.com/ .

LePage. ?This job fair is an excellent opportunity for businesses in the Greater Portland area to hire a talented person while thanking him or her for serving our country with honor.?

Attendees should bring a resume and, more important, should be prepared to have an ?interview-like? conversation with employers to discuss skills, knowledge areas and abilities. Job seekers should also be dressed for an interview.

This Call of Duty Endowment-sponsored employment event is a being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; the Greater Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce; the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans? Employment and Training Service; Maine Committee, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR); the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; the American Legion; NBC News, the Maine Department of Labor and other local partners.
