Fall into a new career
PRESQUE ISLE—The fall job fair in Presque Isle on Wednesday, Oct. 9, will feature more than a dozen employers. The Presque Isle CareerCenter is co-sponsoring the event with the Crow's Nest Restaurant and Event Center and Northern Maine Development Commission. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Crow’s Nest on 150 Maysville Street.
“Strong hiring demand in the Presque Isle area is good news for Aroostook County and indicates positive economic news for the state,” said Governor Paul R. LePage. “We have seen ‘help wanted’ signs going up all over, so this job fair promises to offer good opportunities from great businesses.”
Employers include SITEL, Maine Department of Transportation, Sears, Husson University, Irving Woodlands, McCain Foods, Naturally Potatoes, Tate & Lyle, Townsquare Media, TEMPO, JobsinME.com, Maine Department of Health and Human Services, Maine State Police, Manpower, Home Care for ME and Acme Monaco.
Attendees should bring a resume and, more important, should be prepared to have an “interview-like” conversation with employers to discuss skills, knowledge areas and abilities. Job seekers should also be dressed for an interview.
Interpreters are available but requests should be made in advance to the CareerCenter.
CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of workshops and services to help people find employment or upgrade skills.
