Branding Your Service

In addition to marketing your eGovernment service, it’s important to promote brand awareness in the process. A Brand is what your customers come to associate with your product or service. It could be a catchy web address or unique logo. It’s whatever you think will stand out among the rest and be easy to remember.

Ideas for Branding Your Service

• Register a particular domain name (e.g., Mainemarinelicensing.com)
• Develop a logo (e.g., Rapid Renewal Service)
• Create a tagline (e.g., Maine.gov – The Official Website of the State of Maine)
• Send out a press release
• Create and distribute brochures, posters, etc. with your service logo
• Attend user association tradeshows
• Place web address and/or logo on agency stationary and business cards
• Refer to web address and tagline during your on-hold telephone message
• Host user testing events prior or after the launch of your service
• Tell everyone you know!!!
• Advertising (if it’s in your budget)
