How To Use Sound In Millennium Circulation

Minerva staff may, if they wish, request that Maine InfoNet staff turn on sound support within Millennium Circulation.  There are default sounds for each of these events:

  1. Patron Warning
  2. Patron OK
  3. Check-In (Patron OK)
  4. Item Warning
  5. Item OK
  6. Check-IN (Item OK)
  7. Holds Ready
  8. Fines
  9. Error (generic condition)

If you wish to customized sounds, just specify which sound clip is to be associated with which event. You will find a short list of possible sound clips at

However, any sound file in AU format will work.  Libraries that wish to use files other than those posted on the msl1 server should provide them as email attachments.  Of course, they should be in the public domain or otherwise have no rights issues associated with their use. One good place to look for such public domain sounds:
