March 12, 2008Casco Man Hurt in Snowmobile AccidentSebago Lake, Maine – A 27-year-old Casco man was injured in a snowmobile accident at approximately 4 p.m. today on Sebago Lake near Frye’s Leap. Kenneth Smith was following the shoreline between Raymond Neck and Frye Island when he lost control of his snowmobile, according to Maine Warden Service Sgt. Tim Place. The sled tipped up onto its left side and Mr. Smith fell off the sled and down the ice,” Sgt. Place said. “The sled did not land on him. It went one way and Mr. Smith went the other.”Sgt. Place said imprudent speed may have been the cause of the accident. Mr. Smith was talking when he was transported by ambulance from the scene. At this time it is not known which hospital the ambulance took Mr. Smith. His injuries also are unknown.“He was talking when he left,” Sgt. Place said. The accident remains under investigation. |
