Search Last Evening Locates a Mother and Her Two Children

Argyle Twp., Maine - Last evening at 8:00 PM, the Maine Warden Service received notice that Kristina Ivey, age 42, and her two children ages 9 and 14 were lost in the woods in Argyle Township. Ivey had gone for a walk with her children in the woods behind their residence and had become lost after leaving a trail. As darkness approached and with no flashlight to guide their way, she called for assistance.  Warden’s Jim Fahey, Shannon Fish, Paul Farrington as well as Sergeant Alan Gillis responded to the scene.

Once on scene, Warden Fahey determined that neighbors of Ivey had made voice contact with her but were unable to locate her.  Warden Fahey and Tribal Warden Richard Adams took a compass bearing on Ivey’s distant voice and made their way into the woods.  At 9:15 PM Ivey and her children were located approximately 500 yards into the woods. They were then lead back to their house. Other than being wet and cold the three were in good condition as a result of their brief ordeal. Members of the Maine State Police, the Penobscot Nation Warden Service and the Penobscot Country Sheriff’s Department also responded.
