March 14, 2011 Freeport Man Critically Injured in ATV Incident Augusta, Maine - Gregory Thompson, 48, of Wardtown Road in Freeport, was critically injured when riding his Arctic Cat 700 four wheeler in his driveway after 6 p.m. today. Photo by Paul Cunningham According to Warden Rick Stone, Mr. Thompson’s wife, Robin, told responding officers that she looked out her window and saw her husband flying through the air and the ATV rolling over in the driveway. He landed face down. Mr. Thompson was not wearing a helmet. Freeport Fire and Rescue gave medical assistance, and LifeFlight transported Mr. Thompson to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Freeport Police Officer Cheryl Dupuis responded to the scene, as did Warden Stone. Warden Robert Decker responded to the hospital. |
