Warren Man Seriously Injured in Snowmobile Incident

Augusta, Maine - A 37-year-old Warren man was seriously injured when he hit a bridge while snowmobiling and got tangled in the bridge's rails at 11:20 p.m. Friday in Cross Lake Township, according to the Maine Warden Service.

James Sewall, 37, of Warren was riding an Arctic Cat 700cc snowmobile on Club Trail 96, which connects to ITS 93 when he hit the bridge and became tangled in the 4-foot railings, according the MWS Sgt. Tom Ward.

The St. Agatha Snowmobile Club used its rescue bogan to transport Mr. Sewall from the trail. The sledder was transported by Fort Kent Ambulance to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent, where he is being treated for serious injuries to his torso and right arm.

Game Warden Adrian Marquis is investigating the incident. Mr. Sewall was wearing a helmet.
