Massachusetts Man Dies On Kennebago Lake

An 81-year-old Massachusetts man died when swept out of his boat by a wave at approximately 11 a.m. today on Kennebago Lake in Davis Township.

The man and a friend were attempting to bring their 16-foot Rangeley boat parallel to shore when a wind-driven wave swept the man out of the boat and into the rough water, according to Sgt. John Blagdon of the Maine Warden Service.

The name of the victim is unavailable pending notification of next of kin.
